The guard in the lead clicked his tongue with disdain. Obviously, he didn't believe a word I said. "One of you claims to be a soldier of Prince Rufus, and another to be his mate. How ridiculous!" The arrogant guard sneered at us, even going so far as to call me a bitch.
I was getting impatient. If I had known they were going to treat us like this, I would've fought them off. Now we were stuck in a dilemma.

Today at the banquet, I could see that he was trying his best to restrain his anger when facing Geoffrey.
