The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning

Chapter 1028
When Blake was in middle school, Liam’s novel, At the Horizon’s End, had been all the rage. Information
about him was scarce, mostly a few Interviews on his website. It had been his debut sensation.
The book had exploded in popularity, amassing over a million subscribers in weekly magazines when it
reached a hundred thousand words, soon followed by a comic adaptation.
Liam’s novel had been a part of Blake’s adolescence, a phenomenon that swept her school. Now, sitting
across from her was the author she had idolized as a teenager, and he was her blind date!
Blake felt like she was dreaming. She discreetly pinched herself under the table, confirming this was
reality.
Blake burst with excitement and slid into the seat next to Liam. She whispered, “Liam, can I have your
autograph? I promise to keep your secret.”
Liam, a bit taken aback by Blake’s closeness but not uncomfortable, replied, “Sure, I’ll sign something for
you next time.”
“No need to wait, how about now?” Blake suggested. She realized she had nothing for him to sign, so she
quickly added, “Actually, wait here, I’ll be right back!”
Blake hurried to a nearby bookstore and soon returned, brandishing a copy of At the Horizon’s End and a
black marker. “Could you write, To Blake, wishing you an early fortune“?”
“Okay,” Liam complied, signing the book with the requested message.
Blake admired Liam’s handwriting, which was as elegant as he was.
‘Does this look alright?” he asked gently, his voice calm and reassuring.

“It’s perfect, thank you!” Blake beamed, holding the book close.
“Your latest book must be doing well, right? But I noticed you haven’t updated your website in over a
month. Any plans for a new update?” she asked, curious.
“I’ll be updating it tonight,” Liam said.
Blake, now sitting close enough to notice the minute details of Liam’s face, was mesmerized. His eyes. clear and honest, were
unlike any she had encountered in her world of deceit and manipulation.
Blake realized she had cozied up to Liam like an excited fan. She chuckled awkwardly and returned to her
seat, quietly resuming her meal.

Liam responded, “It’s okay.”
Do you use any messaging apps? Can we exchange contacts? I promise I won’t bug you,” Blake ventured.
“I’m kind of old–school. Just calls for me,” Liam admitted.
“Oh, I see!” Blake said, a touch of disappointment in her voice. She worried she might have been too forward. “That’s fine.”
