“You’re willing to harm even your sister–in–law, so why wouldn’t I be willing to give up Madelyn?”
“You’re so heartless. Don’t mess things up later. If not, Madelyn will be upset. Young girls are the hardest to console.”
“You don’t have to worry about this,” said Zach.
“Are you sure this is what you want to do? If you ruin the engagement ceremony and the Arnold family finds out, you’ll be in deep
trouble for the rest of your life. Even Hayson won’t be able to protect you this time.”
Zach lowered his head and lightly ran his thumb along the knife’s sharp blade. With just a slight movement, he had cut a small
wound, causing a bead of blood to emerge. However, he did not seem to care. His brows remained unfurrowed as he said, “I
never do anything without confidence.”
