“Support the main branch?”
Dalton smiled gently.
“There might be some things that you don’t know about. Why don’t we find a place to talk about it instead? That way, you should
know who deserves the support instead.”
Dalton turned around, heading into a small room with a few assistants and bodyguards.
Kairi squinted before following him with a few of her assistants. She’d give in to anyone-but Dalton.
The main branch’s conflict with the other branches had already been going on for ages. If she gave in now, she’d only let the
elders from the main branch change sides.
A few minutes later, the two sat on a yellow flower pear wood couch. Dalton smiled at her.
“Let’s talk about what I want to tell you first, Lady Patel.
“I’m a straightforward man, so forgive me if I say something to upset you.
“Number one, I can let you keep your position.
“Number two, the main branch will remain as is. Nothing will change.
“Number three, we’ll get married. The family’s successor will be our son.
“If you agree with these conditions, the family gathering will remain as that.
“But if you don’t, then I’ll be the one taking the throne this year.
“Do you understand me?”
Dalton pulled out a cigar and played with it for a moment. After cutting the cigar and lighting it up, he took a huff and blew out a
puff of smoke.
Kairi remained emotionless after hearing those words.

“I didn’t think you had this much ambition. Not only are you trying to be the king of the main branch, but you’re trying to govern
the entire family as well...
“Aren’t you scared of biting off more than you can chew? The Wolsing branch might just die for this, after all.”
Dalton smiled.
“That probably wouldn’t happen.
“That said, the family will always stand together no matter what happens.
“The Patel family has been steadily declining out of the five hidden families these recent years...
“This has a lot to do with the main branch not having an heir.
“I’m only doing this so the main branch has a future!
“I’m already sacrificing myself for the greater good, but you’re complaining about it?
“Or are you saying that you found a better candidate compared to me?”
Kairi took a deep breath before looking sternly at Dalton, who was showing an ambitious and confident expression.
“You don’t have to worry about the main branch, Prince Dalton.
“I think you should do your job properly as a subordinate instead.
“If not, I’m afraid that you won’t get to enjoy your glory and riches if the Wolsing branch were to have another prince.”
Dalton chuckled, his laughter carrying disdain and ridicule.
“Looks like the main branch is planning to go against the Wolsing branch...
“With what?
“The overseas branch?
“Or the Gangnam branch?”

Alfred and Rudy walked in from the side of the room, and stood quietly behind Dalton.
“I’m sorry, but you won’t have their help.”
Kairi’s expression changed instantly.
