Chapter 1623
"It must be here!" Shirley tiptoed to that room and leaned her ear against the door. She tried her best to listen for any sounds in
the room, but the sound insulation in that room was relatively good. Hence, she heard nothing except footsteps from behind her.
"Why are you sneaking around?" Leia sounded cold and displeased.
"Ah!" Feeling guilty, Shirley averted her gaze, too timid to meet Leia's gaze." I passed by and got curious, so I looked around."
"Hmph! Did you pass by this place?" Leia crossed her arms and scoffed," You really are the best actress. Didn't you see the no
entry sign here? Even Stefan can't come here while Dr. Wagner is giving Renee an inspection. What are you up to?" "What sign?
I walked fast and didn't see it." Shirly stubbornly made an excuse even though the sign was clearly marked and placed in the
corridor. There was even a red tape around the area, and Owen had stated that he wanted no disruptions from anyone while he
was working. When Shirley went looking for the surgery room, she did see the sign, but it had just made her even more curious.
She felt that Renee must be hiding something from everyone, and if she found out what it was, she might get on Xavier and
Stefan's good side. Xavier might even care about her more. However, Leia had found her first.
"You didn't see such a large sign? Looks like there's no point in you keeping your eyes then," Leia said spitefully. She might have
lost Xavier to Shirley, but her pride and dignity made her unable to be nice to Shirley.
"I could say the same about you. You didn't see the sign either!" Shirley retorted rudely.
"We're different. Ren is my bestie, so I'm here to protect her, but you must be here due to ulterior motives. I think it's already very
nice of me that I didn't slap you." Coldness shone in Leia's eyes. She felt that she was very generous for holding back given what
Shirley had done to her. She had met many difficult women in her life, but Shirley was the most troublesome. She hadn't done
anything crazy, but she was cunning in the way she went after others. Shirley was like a cockroach that hid in a dark corner,
fiddling with Leia's food from time to time. Although it was not fatal, it was disgusting. Once again, she had the urge to slap
Shirley.
"What a bad temper, Ms. Osborne! You can't just harm anyone you like. Do you see people with humble backgrounds like US as
pushovers?" At that point, Shirley raised her head purposely. "In that case, I'll let you slap me to vent your anger, okay? Go
ahead and slap me!"
