The Untouchable Ex-Wife

Chapter 1665
The process was undoubtedly dangerous, and Quinton had suffered a lot of injuries getting the items.
Similarly, Chase had also suffered a lot.
Once they got what they wanted, they went to a nearby hospital to treat their wounds and rushed back to Beach City as fast as
they could.
Quinton had tried to get in touch with Stefan, but there was no response from him.
He figured that Stefan might be in a place without any signal.
He cut the call and took a deep breath to calm himself, then went to Everheart Manor.
He hesitated before he went in.
As Renee's brother, he had failed to uphold his responsibility as head of the family.
Not only did he fail to protect Renee, but he had caused her so much trouble.
He felt ashamed to meet her, and stood outside the door for almost ten minutes.
"Mr.Everheart, why aren't you going in?"
Chase asked Quinton carefully as they stood at the door of the manor.
“I'm too ashamed to go in,"
Quinton answered honestly.
“Really?"
Chase was shocked and touched that his solemn and aloof boss admitted his weakness to Chase.
Honestly, Chase felt that Quinton had changed—he acted more humanely and considerately.
He was no longer the radical and fierce man who was governed by hatred; he no longer behaved like an emotionless robot.

“I'm her brother—I should have protected her.
I should have overcome all obstacles and hardships for her, but after we reunited..."
Quinton covered his face, looking dispirited.
"I didn't do any of that.I even made her suffer more! If I hadn't been so obsessed with taking revenge on Stefan, he would have
been a powerful ally, and there wouldn't be so many troubles now."
He had been keeping all these things to himself.
He was a strong man who had spent a large part of his life on his hatred and taking revenge.
He had never allowed himself to have regrets, but he did once he knew how Renee was suffering.
“Mr.Everheart, we can't foresee many things.Back then, you were a different person, but your love for Ms.Everheart remains
unchanged. You're a good brother. You wanted to be nice to her, but you used the wrong method. You can be sad or regret it, but
don't blame yourself too much...I think Ms.Everheart wouldn't want you to.Don't you think so?"
Chase tried to comfort Quinton.
"I believe that Ms.Everheart won't blame you, and will be happy if she knows that you and I are back safely. It might even help
with her recovery!"
“Yeah, she'll be very happy if she knows that I've found you!"
Quinton's eyes lit up as if he was a child waiting for a pat on the head.
"Plus, we even found the Western Hills Fruit and Northern Lake Anaconda, so that means Ms.Everheart will be detoxified
soon. You don't have to worry too much."
“Yeah, everything will get better!"
Chase's words gave Quinton the courage to face Renee again.
Finally, Quinton walked into the manor.
