Big Novel

You, Me And Our Genus Twins

Seeing that Madeline was at a loss for words, Luke felt a sense of achievement. "I want to eat some fruit," he said casually.
"I'll help you. What do you want to eat?" Madeline asked hurriedly.
"You can't eat anything!" Logan glared at Luke and said, "Have you forgotten about the doctor's words? You can only consume
liquids during the next few days."
After being quiet for a moment, Luke suddenly let out a scream. "Ugh! I'm so bored!"
Madeline didn't know what to say, whereas Logan sighed. "Honestly, can't you act like a patient?" he asked.
"I'm not a patient. I'm a wounded person!" Luke said seriously.
His words made both of them speechless. Then, Logan rubbed his temples and sighed. "I wish I could exchange him for another
brother."
Although Madeline didn't say anything, she agreed with Logan in secret.
Still annoyed that he was being restricted from doing anything, Luke ignored him and asked Madeline, "Maddie, are you sure it
was Isabel who wanted to hurt you and your children? Could it have been anyone else?"
The most important thing he cared about now was the safety of Madeline and her children. Now that Isabel was in prison, she
would be there for the rest of her life and would not harm them. Right now, he wanted to know if Madeline had any other
enemies. He would eliminate them for her before going back to the Capitol, or he would not be at ease.
"I'm sure it's Isabel, but she was being egged by someone." Then, Madeline told Logan everything that the police officer had told
her.
"Angie and her mother are both sinister! She took your place and enjoyed the wealth of the Wendel Family for over twenty years.
However, not only does she think she owes you nothing, she even wants to hurt you and your children. She is worse than a
monster!" Logan said in contempt.

"Ahh! It's so unfortunate! Why did I get hurt? Otherwise, I'd be able to play around with Angie right now!" Luke moaned in
despair.
Are you sure you want to play with her and not mess with her? Madeline thought as she heard Luke's words. Then, she sighed
and looked at him. "Rest well, Luke. I'll handle this."
Luke's lips twitched upon hearing her words. "You can't. You are too soft-hearted."
"Not this time. Since she has the guts to hurt my children, I will let her pay a huge price!" she said persistently.
"What do you mean by making her pay a huge price? Are you going to scold her or slap her?" Luke huffed nonchalantly.
Madeline was rendered speechless. I'm not playing around. Is he underestimating me? she thought to herself.
"I will make her lose everything she has and turn her life into living hell! If I can prove that she had ordered Isabel to do it, I'll let
her join Isabel in prison. If I can't find anything on her, I will make her lose everything!"
"Can you do that?" Luke raised his eyebrows.
"Yes!" Madeline nodded. "Sebastian's subordinate had some information about Angie, and I looked through it on my way here.
Initially, Angie had lost everything, but things took a turn once she married a businessman called Jeffrey Miller. Since then, she
has been living the life of a rich person again. If we bring Jeffrey down, she will lose everything and be left with nothing once
more. For her, living a life of poverty is the worst thing that can happen to her."
"Jeffrey?" Luke furrowed his eyebrows and thought for a moment. "I haven't heard of him."
"Me neither," Logan said.
Madeline took out her phone and sent Logan the information Sebastian had sent her. "Apparently, Jeffrey became rich after
starting a pottery business. He's considered an upstart, but his wife is from a small aristocratic family at Dusktown. Some time
ago, Jeffrey's wife was pushed off a flight of stairs and entered a vegetative state."

She continued, "According to him, his wife had accidentally fallen from the stairs herself. However, Sebastian's subordinate
found a nanny claiming that she saw Jeffrey pushing his wife down the stairs. Not long after, she changed her testimony and said
that he was going to save his wife instead of pushing her down."
"Did Jeffrey bribe the nanny?" Logan made a guess.
Madeline nodded. "That's right. They found out that the nanny quit her job and returned home after Jeffrey's wife was sent to the
hospital. She started spending generously, buying her son a house, a car, and even getting him a wife. She spent much more
than she had earned while working for the Miller Family."
"Not this time. Since she has the guts to hurt my children, I will let her pay a huge price!" she said persistently.
As he listened to Madeline's words, Logan understood everything. "I get it. If we get the nanny to testify against Jeffrey, he will be
in prison. When that time comes, Angie will have no one to support her."
"That's right. Not only that, Jeffrey's children opposed the idea of Angie becoming their stepmom. If they find out that Jeffrey
pushed their biological mother down the stairs because of Angie, they would definitely vent their anger on her. By then, not only
would Angie be unable to get a single penny from the Miller Family, she would also have to face the wrath of Jeffrey's children."
"This is a good idea. Do you need any help?" Logan asked.
"It's all good, Logan. Sebastian has prepared everything, and I can do it by myself." Then, she looked at Luke. "All you have to
do is help me take care of Luke. I have to take care of Joel since he is sick, so I can't be around all the time. Please help me take
care of him, Logan."
"We are a family. There's no need to talk about this kind of thing. If you ever need my help, just let me know. I will be staying at
Dusktown for the time being, and I'll let you know when I return to the Capitol."
"Okay." Madeline scooted over to Luke and helped him tuck in his blanket. "In that case, I'll be going. Joel has been scared silly
by yesterday's event. When I left today, he was worried sick and looked at me as if he was going to cry. I must return home as
soon as possible. Otherwise, he would be scared."

Hearing her words, Luke rolled his eyes and huffed. "That is why having a brat is so troublesome!"
Madeline didn't know what to say, whereas Logan glared at him before saying to her, "Ignore him. He can't resist the urge to say
anything insulting for a day!"
When she listened to Logan's words, Madeline couldn't help but smile. That's not true, she thought. Rather than saying Luke
couldn't resist the temptation of saying something insulting for a day, she felt that he wouldn't feel at ease if he did not include an
insulting word in every sentence.
