“I’ve approved your resignation letter. No need for farewells.”
“Are you really not going to sue me?”
After Keira left, Isabella recalled her surprised expression and found it somewhat amusing. When she decided not to sue Keira,
the latter was actually offended, feeling that she was being looked down on. She thought to herself, Some people have sick
mentalities.
After she handed Keira over to the HR department, Phoebe came in to report another matter. “Staff from the headquarters just
dropped by and said that the funding you applied for has been wired over.”
Isabella was pleasantly surprised. “How much?”
“11 million.”
Not a penny less.
Oh heavens, I pray that the sc*mbag-No! I pray that Mr. Shaffer will live a long life!
The frustration from last night instantly disappeared, and she no longer felt the need to grit her teeth at the thought of Seth.
Just as it was lunchtime, she received a call, and it was Seth. “Come downstairs.”
Before she had a chance to ask more, he hung up on her. He was so bossy!
Tsk. Isabella rolled her eyes, put away her phone, and grabbed her coat before going downstairs. When she arrived at the
parking lot, she found Seth’s car parked nearby.
She knocked on the window, and the car door unlocked. As soon as she opened the door, a gust of cool air from the air-
conditioning that was on full blast greeted her.
Sitting in the car, she met Seth’s gaze. “Hello, Mr. Shaffer.”
Seth raised an eyebrow in surprise. He thought she would give him the cold shoulder, but why was she glowing? From the
corner of his eye, he glanced at her expression and confirmed that her happiness was not feigned.
“Do you like the perfume?”
Initially, Isabella thought the scent was unpleasant, but after a morning, the smell had faded. She sniffed and said, “It’s quite
nice.”
Seth was suspicious and had prepared for her to give him the cold shoulder, so what was going on?
Isabella leaned against the car, thinking about the funding she had just received, and felt very pleased. Another big hurdle had
been crossed, and Nemotors could now get back on track.
Seth didn’t expect that the funding would be so effective. Seeing her in a good mood, he didn’t feel like picking a fight anymore.
The car drove out of the city and headed toward a quiet place, which surprised Isabella.
“Where are we going?”
“The Campton’s residence.”
Isabella was stunned, and he noticed her expression. “Aren’t you curious about how Corey is doing?”
Isabella’s facial expression turned stiff, and Corey’s face flashed before her eyes, bringing back the icy, bone-chilling feeling. The
air-conditioning blasted, and she shivered all over. “I don’t want to see him.”

Seth said, “So, you’re not going to see him, but you’ll think about him in your dreams every night?”
Isabella was speechless because he was right; she had indeed dreamt about him, and she had deliberately avoided thinking
about this matter these past few days. However, as soon as she thought about it, her mood immediately sank.
“That young man,” she thought. “I didn’t expect him to be such a person.”
“Just see him once. After all, he can’t move.”
“Can’t move?” Isabella repeated in surprise.
Seth pursed his lips and didn’t explain as the car drove to the suburbs and finally onto road.
The Campton Family’s main house was in Perou, and the villa around the mountain was Patrick’s private residence. In order to
deal with Corey, Patrick had specially returned.
Isabella was a bit nervous. She had met Patrick a few times, and he was cold as ice.
When he looked at people, there was no emotion at all, and calling him a poker face was a compliment because a deadpan face
would be more appropriate.
“What are you afraid of?” Seth noticed her clenched fists and found it amusing, but
Isabella simply took a deep breath and mentally prepared herself.
Eventually, the car came to a stop in front of the villa, and a staff member promptly opened the door. Isabella stepped out of the
car and surveyed her surroundings.
The Campton Family originated from Perou, and Patrick received his education in the
West. This was evident in the Gothic style of the house, which, at first glance, resembled more of a castle.
