Big Novel

Seth took a bite of the cake and was pleasantly surprised. As he savored the cake, he thought to himself, Wow! Isabella can
actually make something decent.
Just as he was lost in thought, a black object suddenly flew towards him.
Before he could react, a flurry of cat punches landed on his face.
“F*cking crazy cat!” Seth yelled.
The big black cat huffed heavily and arched its body in attack mode.
Embarrassed, Seth took a step back.
Seeing him retreat, the cat swiftly moved forward and used its body to block the remaining half of the cake.
Meanwhile, Seth watched as the cat circled the cake before opening its mouth wide. and taking a ferocious bite.
A surge of anger filled him. I have always disliked this cat! Now, I can’t believe it dares to steal my food!
Unable to find a suitable tool, he grabbed the cat with his bare hands and slapped it on the head.
“What are you doing?! Why are you hitting the cat?!” Isabella, who had come downstairs, witnessed the scene in horror.
“Mind your own business. I won’t let this cat get away with it so easily today, or my name isn’t Seth Shaffer!”
His statement left Isabella speechless.
As Seth prepared to continue his assault, the black cat quickly grabbed the remaining half of the cake and jumped behind
Isabella.
Seth frowned. D*mn it! This cat is way too cunning!
Isabella gulped and tried to act as a peacemaker. “It’s the cat’s birthday today. Madam
Shaffer asked me to make a cake for it. So, let it finish the cake.”
Upon hearing that, Seth paused and asked, “W-What did you say?”
“It’s... the cat’s birthday,” Isabella replied.

Seth felt dizzy and struggled to breathe. He leaned on the back of a chair and pointed at the cat behind Isabella.
“How was the cake made?”
Unaware of his abnormality, Isabella answered truthfully, “The cake base was made from ground cat food. Once the cake was
out of the oven, I spread the cream exclusively for animals.”
Seth was shocked by her words.
A flash of pain crossed his brows. After a moment of hesitation, he pushed Isabella aside and hurried towards the bathroom on
the first floor.
The sound of vomiting followed.
Puzzled, Isabella looked down at the cream-licking cat at her feet and recalled the earlier scene.
After careful consideration, she had a guess.
She cautiously walked to the bathroom door and knocked.
“Um... did you eat the cake?”
“Get lost!”
Tsk!
You were the one being gluttonous.
Isabella rolled her eyes, sighed, and explained, “You won’t die from eating cat food. The cream is also safe to consume.”
Another round of vomiting sounded, even more intense than before.
Isabella touched her nose and prepared to leave when the door behind her suddenly opened.
With his face covered in water droplets, Seth came out looking furious.
“What’s the deal with the words on the cake?”
Isabella stopped in her tracks, recalling what she had written-‘Happy Birthday, Shaffe the Blackguard.’

Tugging at the corner of her mouth, she chuckled awkwardly. “It was Madam Shaffer’s instruction. She asked me to write those
words.”
Truth be told, Seth only saw the last name, Shaffer. He had no idea what the rest of the words meant. However, when he saw
Isabella’s reaction, he guessed it wasn’t anything good.
He remembered the vague insults Isabella had thrown at him before.
Suddenly, it all made sense.
“You’ve named the cat Shaffer the Blackguard! Well, I understand that this cat behaves like a scoundrel. But am I really that
despised in your eyes? Why do you have to project your dissatisfaction onto the cat and give it such an undignified name?”
Isabella covered her face and took a step back. “Mr. Shaffer, it was Madam Shaffer who named the cat. Besides, you’re not the
only one with the last name Shaffer. If you think about it, you’ll realize it’s not referring to you.”
It’s your father.
Seth’s temples throbbed intensely.
His initial response was regret. I can’t believe I forgot about this during my match with
Patrick this afternoon! D*mn it! I lost for nothing!
