Ryan Collins POV
Carina drove the car to the nearby club where we were going to party.
“You’re going too fast.” I complained, holding the car seat as she swerved to avoid a cab. I saw the driver flip her off in the rearview mirror.
“Wussy.” She muttered, navigating past a huge truck.
“Carina!” I clutched the seatbelt. Today was going to be my last day on earth.
“Okay fine. Crybaby.” She pulled up next to the noisy club, people already lining up, and pulled her robes off in a smooth motion.
“You’re not wearing that. That’s too revealing.” I said holding her arm when she tried to go out.
“Stop me, Collins.” She smirked, swaying her hips as she walked to the bouncer. I stared at the slinky, black, glittery dress she wore, which barely covered her a*s.
“F*ck.” I cursed, following her out.
“Stop walking so seductively.” I grumbled, grabbing her waist and glaring at the men staring at her with lecherous eyes.
“Carina!!” Sara White slurred, obviously drunk.
“Let’s dance!” We were pulled to the dance floor, and almost immediately a tall man came and grabbed her a*s. Before I could get a word in, Carina kicked his b*lls.
“What the fu*k!? B*tch!” The man wailed, screeching. The dancers backed away to form a small circle, and were watching us.
“If you wear that shit to a club, don’t you think we can grope you? Its accepted here sl*t.”
I clenched my fists, but Carina held my shoulder tightly.
“It’s accepted. But,it’s not acceptable. If you grope any woman without her permission… and I don’t think any want you to, I hope she’ll cut your fu*king hands off.”
Carina smiled calmly, grabbing my hand and walking to the table.
I stared at her, stunned of her confidence back there. For a moment she looked so etheral, something too good for this world. I shook my head, and took the small box out of my pocket.
“Carina.” I said, my voice wavering just a bit.
“Yes?” She turned around, smiling, and my heart skipped a beat. Or maybe that was the alcohol. I didn’t know.
“This… will you marry me?” I brandished the ring towards her, looking away because I was blushing so hard. She was silent for a few beats, taking the box from my hand.
“Why the heck do you want to marry me? And this is the most unromantic proposal … like ever.” She laughed, looking at me amusedly.
“Seriously? Its a yes or no question, Russo.” I muttered, pulling her close to me.
“Okay yes,I will marry you. But I want to wear a red dress. No white. I’ll look too angelic and everyone will want to marry me.” She rambled, and I stopped her my kissing her.
She kissed me, and the world fell away. It was slow and soft, comforting in ways that our harsh words would never be.
My hand rested below her ear, my thumb caressing her cheek as our breaths mingled together. She ran her fingers down my back, pulling me closer until there was no space left between them and I could feel the beating of her heart against my chest.
“I love you so much.”
“Same. But could you like propose more romantically, in a hotel? I wanted to catch it on camera.” Carina said, leaning her head on my chest.
“Shut up, Russo.”
