Brenda was stunned. She hadn’t expected Kristen to dump the plate of oysters into the trash can without hesitation.
Kristen was so fast that Brenda hadn’t even put down her cutlery, so Brenda was very embarrassed at this point.
“You shouldn’t waste food.”
Kristen smiled and said, “No, I’m not wasting food. I’ll take this downstairs and feed it to the stray dogs. They would gratefully wag their tails at me.”
Brenda looked at Kristen grimly. She was obviously accusing Brenda of being worse than a dog.
Marco stood up and grabbed Kristen’s wrist. “You did that on purpose?”
Kristen suppressed her anger and looked at Brenda’s smug face. “I’ve obviously been very considerate. Since Ms. Shapley has said you don’t like the food and she knows exactly what you like, she can cook for you in the future.”
Kristen sincerely suggested to Marco. Since they didn’t like her cooking, she wouldn’t do it anymore.
As Marco approached, Kristen smelled the scent of his cologne. In the past, she liked this smell very much. She had even secretly bought one to spray in her room. By that, she could pretend that Marco had returned.
Since they got married four years ago, Kristen had spent most of her time waiting for Marco. However, the man she waited for never came back. So she had to console herself with a bottle of cologne.
Now, she just felt the smell was very disgusting and she even wanted to vomit.
“Didn’t you tell me two days ago that Ms. Shapley moved in to take care of me? I haven’t been feeling well lately, and I don’t want to smell the fumes.”
Kristen turned her gaze to Brenda’s angry face and smiled gracefully and defiantly like a hostess in those soap operas. Kristen only treated Brenda as a free servant. Since it was free, then of course Kristen would not refuse.
Brenda gritted her teeth. She only said she was here to take care of Kristen out of courtesy.
Brenda was annoyed, but she still looked at Marco pitifully. “Marco, Ms. Lawrence didn’t mean it. She just doesn’t know your preferences. Besides, she’s used to having someone take care of her. In the future, let me do the cooking.”
Kristen rolled her eyes. Brenda was a total bitch. Kristen took her hand back and said coldly, “I did cook for you this time, but that doesn’t mean that you are the hostess here. Not only do you show no respect to me, but you are so arrogant and picky. Is that what a lady does?”
“I didn’t. Ms. Lawrence, I know you don’t welcome me. I’ll leave now,” Brenda said. Brenda’s eyes were red and tears were hanging on her eyelashes. Brenda looked at Marco tearfully, as if she was bullied.
Marco grabbed Brenda and looked angrily at Kristen. After that, Marco said coldly, “Apologize.”
“Why?” Kristen looked up at Marco and said, “Marco, what do you think I said wrong? I thought you were going to let Brenda stay here to take care of me. I already did the cooking so if you don’t like it, just dump it all in the trash. I’ve done everything you told me to. And now you even want me to apologize?”
Marco narrowed his eyes, but Kristen glared back at him fearlessly. She would never apologize to Brenda!
Brenda stood behind Marco and surreptitiously tugged on his sleeve. Then Brenda shook her head. “I’m fine. Don’t argue with her.”
Brenda’s pitiful attitude made Kristen look even more aggressive. If it were before, Kristen wouldn’t care. But now, Kristen won’t live long, and she didn’t want to put up with this disgusting show from Brenda anymore.
“That’s enough. Bitch, I’m certainly not going to argue with Marco over you, because you’re nothing.”
