Ichiro woke up in a different place. A dark forest. He tried looking around, but there were no signs of anything else than trees. He figured that exits were way too far. He tried moving, but he was tied up again. A dark silhouette, blackened by the night’s sky, appeared in front of him.
…’Find me’…
It was a girl’s voice. He recognized it. It was the same as the last dream.
…’You again? What do you want from me? Why do you keep coming back?’, he asked….
As he watched the silhouette, it seemed….connected to him in some way. He felt shivers down his spine as she started talking.
…’You need to find me. Mount Fushin. Ten days’…
Ichiro started panicking. The girl was talking so mechanically, it barely felt like it was human. But was it human. The moment he wanted to ask her name again, he woke up.
It was. midnight, he was alone in his room. ‘Mount Fushin… huh?’. His overthinking mind kept telling him not to go. It was the most dangerous mountain in the world. It was also known as the Mountain of the Dead. The fatality rate of people trying to visit it was 70%, higher than any other. But something pushed him to stop listening to his mind.
Before he even realized it, he packed his things and left Sensei a note. He carefully stepped out of the Dojo. Taking one last look at the building he first felt like home in, he started his journey.
In the morning, Hikari was waiting for him down at cafeteria. It wasn’t something unusual for them to take breakfast, lunch and dinner together. But Ichiro was awfully late. Right when she started walking to his room, she was stopped by Wu.
…’We need to talk’, he said….
Both of them headed towards Ichiro’s room and Hikari saw a note on the desk.
…’So you saw it too’, said Wu. ‘ “I will be back in ten days at most. If I am not, assume I died.”. That’s what it says. I don’t know where he went or what he’s doing, but I’m not planning on going after him. It’s his choice, after all’…
Hikari just stood there. She didn’t say a thing. She didn’t want to and she couldn’t either. After about five minutes of chatting with Sensei, she left the room.
…’I didn’t expect to resort to this. Oh well..’…
She casted a spell. Before she knew it, she was in a forest, right behind Ichiro. ‘So it worked’, she thought. She quickly hid behind a tree. Ichiro looked like he was in a rush. It didn’t take her long to realize in which direction he was heading.
She jumped out of her hiding immediately after finding out about Ichiro’s destination. She landed in front of him, blocking his way.
…’HOW are you here?’, he asked nervously….
…’Teleportation. Once I sense your Aura once, I can teleport to you. Easy, right? Now, talking about easy…you have two ways of doing this. The easy way, you come back with me and the hard way, which is the one I’d prefer you’ll not find out.’…
…’Really? Sensei told you to come after me? I appreciate the concern, but I’m fine.’…
…Hikari looked at him angrily. ‘Hah, no. Sensei did tell me that it’s your choice that you went away and that he won’t stop you. It’s my will coming here’…
…’The easy way or hard one, huh?. Exactly as he said that, Ichiro jumped in the air, getting ready to boost himself and fly away, but he didn’t even have time to blink when he felt Hikari’ s hand on his shoulder….
…’You are fast, I’ll give you that, but it’s nowhere enough’…
…She grabbed him by his arm and they landed on the ground safely. ‘So, you coming?’, she asked….
Ichiro tried to think of ways he could escape. He could use his Wind spells to boost himself away or run, but Hikari could teleport after him. Whatever thought his mind created, was instantly countered by Hikari. He had no chance. Expect for one risky and even deadly one. ‘There’s no other way around it’, he thought.
Ichiro closed his eyes and a black mark appeared on his forehead.
…’What… is that mark?’, asked Hikari….
…’FORBIDDEN AURA : SOUL METAMORPHOSIS’…
…’ARE YOU INSANE? FORBIDDEN SPELLS? SERIOUSLY?’…
A strong wind started blowing Hikari away from Ichiro, then a huge explosion blew her away from him. ‘Now the spell changed my Aura temporarily. If I get enough distance between us, she can’t catch up’
He started running, constantly using his Wind spells to make him faster. Right when he thought he escaped, he had a huge shock.
Two fists made or rock grabbed his legs, stopping him from moving. Hikari walked by him, as she crouched to look at him.
…’You know, using a Forbidden spell like that… it was quite reckless of you. But to think you could get through my defense so easily, you’re really underestimating me, aren’t you?’…
Ichiro tried using spells to break Hikari’s, but to no avail. His Energy was at almost zero and his Life Force was slightly drained, as well.
Hikari came to him and touched his forehead with her fingers. Ichiro collapsed, falling into a deep slumber.
He woke up bring carried by Hikari. She didn’t realize he woke up and he took full advantage of it. ‘So, the Aura orb I left there is already close to Mt. Fushin. Perfect. Here I go then’
The moment Hikari wanted to check on him, he vanished, with no traces.
…’What? I never taught him how to teleport. Oh no, forced teleportation consumes Life Force. I have to find him’…
