As soon as I opened my eyes I took out my cell phone to see what time it was and despaired when I saw it was almost eleven in the morning. I took a shower very quickly, I wore a black dress because it was the first outfit that was in front of me when I went into the closet, got my things and ran down the stairs to leave the house.
– Aren’t you going to have breakfast\, miss? – asked Rose.
– No Rose. I’ll eat at the hotel. Bye. – I replied before closing the door.
I had overslept and it messed up all my plans for today. I had planned before I fully fell asleep that it would advance as many things as possible so that I could go to dinner with Marshall at night. And that was when I I was walking through the streets that I remembered that I hadn’t answered his message. I opened my bag, took out my cell phone. When I was typing the message, I heard a car horn on my left side. It was Marshall.
– Goes into. – he said.
– You as always\, saving my life. Thank you. – I said getting into the car.
– The difference in the way I save and how I’m saving your life now is that I’m the one driving. – he replied with a smile on his face.
– Okay. Okay. Okay\, sampled. By the way\, I have to get my driver’s license. – I asked.
– Yes. But we’ll talk about that later. Can I find out why Miss King didn’t respond to my message? – he asked me as we entered the hotel garage.
– I ended up sleeping too much. Sorry. – I said.
– Okay. Come on. I’ll help you today so you can leave early. – he said as he got out of the car.
– How am I going to leave early if I’m late\, Marshall? – I asked during the time I expected him to open the door for me.
– Advantages of being the boss. – he said with a wide smile on his face.
I didn’t say anything, just laughed while shaking my head negatively. We took the elevator and went down on the twentieth floor and started walking towards my office. I opened the door and went through the reception that preceded my room. Emily was already there.
– Good morning\, Miss King\, Lord Prince. – she greeted us standing up.
– Good morning Emily. – we both responded together.
We looked at each other and started laughing at that situation as we walked towards my door. As soon as we entered, Marshall sat in one of the armchairs that faced my table and said:
– What do we have to do today?
– I need to do some calculations to find out how the capital is doing and decide to reopen another hotel\, I have to check the entire pantry both in terms of food and hygiene products and I will walk around the hotel to see if guests are satisfied with the service and with the rooms. – I replied while taking a paper before sitting down.
– While you do these calculations\, I’ll walk around the hotel. – he said getting up.
– You can’t. I have to do this. – I replied surprised with what he had just said.
– I said I will help. In a few hours I’ll be back. – I said as I was walking quickly towards the door to leave my office.
– What did I shove in here? – I asked while placing my hand on my forehead.
I was worried about the fact that he was going to do my job, but I was going to accept his help. I had some calculations to do that would cost me a lot of time. And because Marshall wanted me to have dinner with him, I didn’t have to. reject his help.
I started to do the math to see how the capital was doing. I confess that I was very anxious to know this from the moment I paid the last installment of the loan to the bank. These calculations ended up taking more time than I imagined because I having repeated it three times just to be sure of the capital value.
– That’s great ! – I said almost jumping from my chair.
At that moment, Emily came in to talk to me.
– Miss\, Mr. King is here and wants to talk to you.
– Tobias or my uncle? – I asked.
– Tobias. – she answered.
– Send him in. – I said.
And at the same time, I started to save some papers so he wouldn’t know what I was doing. I took the hotel’s list of groceries and it was at that moment that he entered.
– Diana\, I want to …
– Tobias\, I really don’t want to hear an apology from you. If you came here just for that\, you can leave now. – I said interrupting him while organizing the papers on the table.
– I wanted to apologize and invite you to dinner. – He said still near the door.
I had been so aggressive that I had not even given him a chance to approach me. I took a deep breath and started speaking again:
– I won’t be able to have dinner with you today. I have an appointment at night. Sorry for my rudeness\, but I was really upset with your way of acting yesterday. I hate your jealousy little scenes\, Tobias.
– I know\, I know. But I can’t control myself\, Diana. I love you and I don’t want to lose you to someone else. – he said approaching my table.
So I got up and he stopped walking. I took the hotel’s list of groceries and looked over the table to see if everything was stored in my desk drawers.
– Okay. I just want you to change the way you act. Now I need to go. – I said as I raised my hand and motioned for him to leave the room.
He came up to me, hugged me and kissed my forehead.
– See you at home. – he said as he walked towards the door.
When he was about to close the door, he turned and looked at me, so I smiled to let him know that everything was fine and closed the door. I started walking right away and also left my room. I locked the door and put it on in one of my dress pockets.
– Emily\, I’m going to check the hotel’s groceries. You don’t have to wait for me to come home. – I said.
– Okay\, miss. – she replied smiling.
It took me a few hours to check everything and I didn’t meet Marshall during that time. When I returned to my office, it was almost eighteen. And as soon as the elevator doors opened, I saw Marshall sitting on one of the reception sofas.
– Why did you lock the door? – he asked\, confused.
– Tobias was here. – I answered.
– Understand. – he said.
I opened the living room door and we went in quickly just to have a brief conversation.
– Since you made the “round” to find out if guests are satisfied or not\, please report everything to me. – I asked for it.
– It all comes down to just one word: PERFECTION! Everyone is more than satisfied with all the hotel facilities and the food served as well. – he said and I could see the joy in his eyes.
– This is wonderful. – I said while smiling too.
– And the capital? – he asked me.
– I have enough to reopen two more hotels. – I answered.
– HOW WONDERFUL ! – he shouted inside the room and stood up to give me a hug
I got up from my chair so I could hug him and he lifted me up with his arms and spun around while we laughed.
– That’s more than enough to celebrate. Let’s have dinner. – he said.
– Come on. Let me just put these papers in the drawer and we’ll go. – I replied while I opened one of the drawers to keep the checklist.
I took my bag and we left my room. We took the elevator to go to the hotel garage to get the car to go. When we left the building, he started driving towards his family shopping.
– Are we going to dinner at the mall? – I asked.
– No. There is a restaurant that opened yesterday that is close to one of the franchises that I admire a lot. It’s Japanese. – he replied.
I said nothing. I just watched the buildings and houses lagging behind all the way to the restaurant.
