Chapter 1227
Trevor was a petty person. He refused to reveal Stella's identity to Leighton when he asked for a photo of his long- lost cousin.
His plan was to let him find out during the family gathering and make a fool of himself. He found it entertaining to know that
Leighton would have to suppress his anger and frustration in front of Edith and Wilfred, especially since he was not letting him
have his way.
However, to his surprise, Leighton laughed strangely instead of getting upset.
When Trevor inquired about the reason behind the laughter, Leighton composed himself and said, "I'm just overjoyed to know
that my celebrity idol is my cousin."
His words left Edith stunned. "Stella is your celebrity idol?" she asked.
"Yeah, grandma. Remember the voice actor I told you about? " Leighton's voice softened as he explained.
Edith had taken the time to know her grandson's interests, so she knew who he was referring to. "You mean Dusk Galaxy?"
Leighton nodded.
Edith was not familiar with animated characters, but she got to know those that were voiced by Stella after seeing various Dusk
Galaxy merchandise in Leighton's room.
Realizing that her granddaughter and grandson had already connected long ago brought a smile to her face.
"See, honey. I told you God would answer our prayers. Stella was right in front of us all along," she said.
"You're right, my dear. I'll give more offerings to the church in return," Wilfred responded.
'That's it?' Trevor thought. 'Since when did Leighton have such a good temper?'
Leighton seemed genuinely unbothered by the situation and struck up a conversation with Stella. Being close in age, they found
a common ground quite easily.
Leighton had always had a crush on Stella and felt a little uneasy after finding out that she was his cousin. However, he was not
heartbroken for too long because he knew she liked Keegan. ‘Thank God for Keegan. I would've been absolutely gutted if I had
fallen any deeper,’ he thought.’ And, fuck Trevor for being an asshole.'
Soon, the gathering was filled with joy and laughter. Wilfred drank a little too much and could not stop calling Stella’s name. He
even tried to give her the card he had won from the bet with Daryl, but she politely declined the offer.
Worried that Stella was uncomfortable with the situation, Edith tried to change the subject. "Stella, I noticed that you brought over
some tea leaves and collagen drinks. How did you know that Wilfred enjoys tea?"
"Oh, a friend suggested it as a gift," Stella chuckled. She wanted to mention Keegan but decided not to since no one in the family
had brought up her divorce. So, she was not sure how they felt about him.
"Well, your friend certainly has good taste. These tea leaves are very high quality and rather pricey too," Edith complimented.
"Not as expensive as the Carpi fountain pen," said Stella.
Her comment caused both Wilfred and Edith to fall into a brief silence.
