Chapter 1433
"Could she be a bumpkin who can't fit into high society? Is that why they did not want to reveal her identity right after finding her
back? Look at this hotel. Would they choose to organize the banquet here if they really care about her?"
"Well, although this is just a normal hotel, the decorations here are decent. Perhaps they have other considerations."
"An ugly duckling transforming into the daughter of the richest man in town. How cliche."
"You're wrong. The ugly duckling was always a white swan from the beginning."
"Do you think the return of this real heiress will threaten Jaylene's status?"
"It's hard to say. I heard that the Saun family favors daughters over sons. Jaylene is treated better than Trevor in their family,
even though she was adopted. Can you imagine how they'd treat their real daughter?"
"But Jaylene has been in the family for more than twenty years. You can develop feelings even for a pet in such a long time, let
alone a child raised as their own. I doubt that this true heiress can overshadow her."
"Even if she doesn't get favored in the Saun family, there's still the Hall family. Anyway, this true heiress has reached the peak of
her life."
Vermont clinked his glass against Keegan's. "I heard that your uncle, the second son of the Hall family, almost got into an
argument with Wenham because of the hotel selection."
"Uncle?" Keegan thought for a moment. "Daryl Hall?"
Vermont nodded.
Keegan was puzzled. "When did you become so close with him?" Keegan could not believe that he managed to get that
information from Daryl.
Vermont shrugged. "Our personalities clicked. We got along so well that he even wanted me to become his brother, but his wife
interrupted us. Otherwise, you'll also be calling me your uncle, too, now."
Keegan's mouth twitched. "Piss off."
"Tsk. How could you scold me after I told you something you didn't know?" Vermont curled his lip and added, "I'm pretty sure
your wife's stepmother tricked her into choosing this hotel. How cunning that woman is. She listed out all the hotels for Stella to
choose from, so no one could blame her since Stella was the one who made the decision herself.
"But Mrs. Chapman is very clever. She made her hotel look so much better with the decorations. However, it still can't add
another star to her hotel, and every guest here knows there are certainly better hotels out there. I'm afraid your wife will lose her
first battle after returning to the Saun
family. Hopefully, she'll learn her lesson from this."
However, Keegan was not worried at all. "Stella is very intelligent. The battle hasn't ended yet, so don't be too quick to judge."
Vermont glanced at him. "Don't you think you're overestimating your wife? Are you sure intelligent is the best word to describe
her?"
Keegan glared back at him. "Why would she look for the soup recipes for you if she's not intelligent? She has been asking me
about your condition, and she might have already figured out that you're lying to Felicity."
Vermont froze and immediately said, "Not only is your wife intelligent, but she's also gorgeous and graceful. Please, you've got to
cover it up for me before I can come clean to Felicity at the right time."
Keegan scoffed. He was about to say something more but saw Cordelia entering the venue with Aurora and Baldwin.
He put his glass down and said to Vermont, "Excuse me."
Then, he walked over to Cordelia.
Cordelia noticed Keegan from afar. She saw him coming closer and stretched her arm out toward him. Keegan held her hand
and said, "Grandma, let me bring you to your seat."
Cordelia patted his hand and allowed Keegan to assist her to her seat. Aurora was about to follow them, but she heard Dahlia's
coming from behind.
She paused and turned around. "Mom, why are you here too?
" She was surprised.
Dahlia dressed very elegantly for the night, reminiscent of the time when she was still in the Kane family. She was adorned with
jewelry and exuded an air of wealth, giving her the look of a rich man's wife.
She held her handbag with both hands in front of her, presenting a graceful and poised appearance. After hearing Aurora's
question, she said, "Your dad used to be very close with Uncle Wenham. This is an important event for the Saun family. How
could I not be here?"
Of course, she purposely said that for others to listen. She wanted to assert her identity and let the guests know how close she
was with the host.
Aurora did not think too much of it and asked softly," Grandma and Keegan are over there. Would you like to say hi to them?"
