Chapter 1434
Dahlia reminded herself of when she was kicked out of the Kane family when Aurora mentioned Cordelia, fueling her
resentment.
She said coldly, "I don't think your grandmother would want to see me, so I won't bother her." Then, she asked, "Have you met
this new heiress of the Saun family before?"
Aurora shook her head and said, "No, but Keegan has."
Dahlia was surprised. "What? Are you sure? What did he say? IV
Everyone was curious about the new heiress of the Saun family, and Aurora was no exception. She overheard Trevor and
Keegan talking about the banquet on the phone the other day. Aurora was curious as to why Keegan would be so interested in
the new heiress of the Saun family, so she asked him about it out of curiosity.
She was not expecting a response from him, but he answered anyway, "Ms. Saun is a melody of grace in a world of noise, with
eyes holding stars and a heart's gentle poise. You'll get it when you see her."
Dahlia was shocked. "Did your brother really say that?"
Aurora nodded.
Dahlia was worked up. Her son would never compliment anyone like this.
Although it was just two lines of description, Dahlia could tell that Keegan held the new heiress of the Saun family in high regard.
Dahlia tried to match him up with Jaylene, but he was not interested in her at all. However, his high praises for the new heiress
led Dahlia to believe that he deeply admired her.
Dahlia was overjoyed that Keegan did not take an interest in Jaylene because she was not the real heiress of the Saun family,
after all.
As she contemplated how to speak to the new heiress to establish a good relationship, she heard Jaylene's voice." Ms. Crosby."
Dahlia paused, turned around, and nodded nonchalantly.
Jaylene did not notice Dahlia's aloofness as she said gently, "There are some freshly served desserts over there. Would you like
to have some?"
Dahlia rejected her indifferently. "It's fine. My blood sugar has been a little high lately, so I'm cutting down on sugar."
Jaylene paused and looked at Dahlia.
Dahlia was not as friendly when she wanted to pair her up with Keegan back then. Instead, she felt cold, as if they were
strangers.
Jaylene pursed her lips and said flatly, "Okay then."
Then, she stood upright and walked away.
Aurora frowned. "Mom, why are you so cold to her?"
Dahlia said, "Your brother isn’t interested in her. If I get too close to her, she might think otherwise."
Aurora thought to herself. 'Keegan had never liked her, yet you treated her very differently back then.'
As soon as Jaylene turned around, her gaze grew cold. She could not figure out why Dahlia's attitude toward her had changed.
'New heiress of the Saun family, huh? I hope she won't be too shocked when she sees her face.'
"How's Stella?"
Cordelia held onto Keegan and asked softly.
"She's fine." Keegan poured her a glass of water. "Don't worry."
Cordelia glanced at him and said, "I should have been the host today if it weren't for your incompetence. Look at me now, sitting
in the corner. I'll even have to crane my neck to see Stella later."
Keegan was speechless.
