Chapter 505
Celeste’s arm was damp from his sweaty palm, and she couldn’t help but say, “If you’re tired, go to sleep.”
Liam, with half–closed eyes, said, “I’ll sleep once the money is in your account, or else you’ll leave again.”
Celeste thought to herself that whether or not the money was deposited, she was going to leave anyway. They were already
divorced, and this place was no longer her home.
But she didn’t say anything after she saw Liam’s stubborn look.
Whatever she said, he wouldn’t remember when he woke up.
“Letti”
Liam softly called her as he held her and they lay on the pile of money.
Celeste didn’t respond.
“Letti.”
Liam didn’t hear her reply, so he called out again.
She whispered, “What?”
“Don’t date Steven,” he said, nuzzling her neck. “If you think I’m not good enough, I’ll change, but I can’t change my looks. Just
be with me more. and you’ll get used to it.”
Celeste was just starting to feel a little moved when she heard Liam continue, “I used to think you weren’t pretty enough, your
eyes weren’t big enough, your nose wasn’t high enough, and you looked a bit silly when you laughed. But after being with you for
a long time, you seem to be getting more and more beautiful.”
Celeste suddenly wanted to shove a stack of bills into Liam’s mouth.
Liam babbled on, saying a lot of things that Celeste couldn’t quite remember. His voice grew softer and softer in her ear, and
they both unknowingly fell asleep.
Money may look good, but it’s not comfortable to sleep on,
Celeste woke up the next day, her body aching from the cash beneath her. She opened her eyes and stared at the familiar
ceiling, taking a few minutes to recall the events of the previous night.
Liam was still fast asleep, his hand tightly hooked around her waist.
Celeste removed his hand, checked the time on her phone, and saw that it was just past six.
She called Owen again, but he still didn’t pick up.
Estimating the time, she figured Liam would wake up soon, so she called Nicolas.
On the phone, she just told Nicolas that something had happened at Liams place and asked him to help deal with it.
Nicolas was still half-asleep, but when he heard that Celeste had spent the night with Liam, he immediately perked up, got
dressed, and drove
over to Pinecrest Manor
Liam was awakened by the doorbell.
He frowned, as he was very unhappy about being woken up, and it took him a while to sit up.
It was only after sitting up that he realized he wasn’t in bed. He looked down and pursed his lips.
Nicolas had been calling out for a long time before Liam finally came to open the door.
Seeing Liam still half–asleep and not having changed his clothes, Nicolas immediately imagined a dramatic scene and smirked,
“Impressive! I thought it would take some time, but I didn’t expect you to win Celeste over so quickly!”
As he walked in, he asked, “Where’s Celeste? She said there was an issue here. What happened... Oh!”
Nicolas stood in the entrance, looking at the piles of cash all over the room, and blurted out a curse, “Did you rob a bank last
night or something?”
Liam rubbed his temples, his hangover giving him a massive headache, “Why are you here?”
“Your wife... your ex–wife let me here, okay?” Nicolas forced his eyes away from the cash, “She called me at like 6 in the
morning, said there was some stuff going on here, and asked me to come help you out.”
He paused and added, “Was she talking about the bank robbery?”
Liam ignored that part and frowned, “Celeste called you? She was with me last night?“
