Chapter 891
Trisha was a bit conflicted. “But wouldn’t that be deceiving the hiring company?”
“Of course not,” said Celeste, “At most, it’s an exaggeration. Liam once received a resume from a young graduate, claiming he
had completed projects worth hundreds of millions and participated in commercial launches worth tens of billions Liam thought
he had potential, so he took him to negotiate a major project soon after hiring him. The project was signed successfully, and
Liam asked him what the big project he had participated in before was. Do you know what he said?”
“What did he say?” Trisha was curious and surprised How could a fresh graduate possibly participate in such a big project?
Celeste said, “The project worth hundreds of millions was a user event for an app, and the commercial launch worth tens of
billions was a creative incentive for another app”
Trisha was shocked. She couldn’t believe it. “Did Liam fire him?”
“Of course not.” Celeste laughed. “In fact, he got promoted later”
“Wasn’t Liam mad about being deceived?”
“I asked Liam, and he said that a resume is just a reference for the company, and the employee’s actual work ability is their main
focus. The guy did a great job during the negotiation, so even if his resume was a bit exaggerated, it didn’t stop Liam from
continuing to use him. Ability is mom important than a resume, employers aren’t idiots. And you have Liam backing you up, who
would dare say your resume is fake? Celeste looked up. “So, do you want to add it?”
“Sure!
Trisha was immediately “persuaded by Celeste’s words. Besides, if Liam could help her, then so could Nicolas
Nicolas’s company had produced many dramas over the years, there must be some that hadn’t been broadcast yet. She could
add her name to one of those, and that would be a ready–made “project experience”
Thinking about this, Trisha immediately clicked opened the supermarket app on her phone and ordered a lot of fruits and
vegetables, planning to cook something delicious and talk to Nicolas about it.
Just as she finished placing the order, her phone rang.
Trisha answered it, heard a few words, then passed the phone to Celeste, They want you.”
“Me?”
Celeste was confused, but still took the phone.
“Hello, this is Celeste.”
“It’s me”
Mrs Kelley’s voice came from the other end of the phone. Celeste pursed her lips, ready to hang up.
“Don’t rush to hang up on me now. Even if you do, I’ll find another way to reach out to you. A few words won’t take up much of
your time, night? You don’t want me to bother your friends every time I need to talk to you, do you?”
Celeste paused, furrowing her brows, “I’ve told you I can’t help you with your problems and I don’t want to cooperate with you.
What do you want exactly?”
Mrs. Kelley pursed her lips lightly. “Celeste, if it wasn’t for me saving you from those men last night and sending you to Liam, do
you think you’d be sitting at home safe and sound?”
Celeste’s face darkened instantly, “Did you drug me last night?”
“Of course not, quite the contrary, I saved you from a bunch of unknown guys,” Mrs. Kelley paused, “If it weren’t for me delivering
you to Liam, and switching the drugs that Skyler originally planned to give Liam, you might be seeing headlines about Liam and
Clair getting a room in a hotel at this moment. I propose we team up, this is my sincerest offer to you”
Celeste was flabbergasted Had Skyler gone mad? She actually resorted to such a despicable tactic against her own son?
If Mrs. Kelley hadn’t betrayed Skyler, then Skyler’s plan would have succeeded, and she would have seen news of Liam and
Clair in a hotel room. Could she not have doubts about Liam then? Would the Garcia family not coerce Liam to take
responsibility?
Every time she thought about this, Celeste felt a sense of dread.
She took a deep breath and asked in a low voice, “Who were the people that kidnapped me last night?”
