Chapter 1047
Thalassa froze as she saw him. Her body began to tremble uncontrollably, and her heart was racing like a runaway train. Her
breaths was shallow and desperate.
Great terror enveloped her whole being.
Lysander strode into the foyer, his presence stirring the air like an unwanted spirit. The pressure seemed to plummet, the air
growing dense and tight around them.
As Thalassa locked eyes with Lysander, who descended upon the room like some devil incarnate, she felt as if his icy eyes were
vortexes, set to devour her very soul.
—
Fear seeped into her bones, her heart erratic as a hailstorm in spring moments of calm shattered by sudden, chilling strikes.
Lysander was closing in, and Thalassa stood petrified. Her limbs forgot their very purpose. Panic clawed its way up from the pit
of her stomach.
Suddenly, a shadow loomed before her, severing the intense gaze between her and Lysander.
Callum stepped in front of Thalassa, his handsome face set in a stern line as he squared off against Lysander. “Mr. Sinclair, what
brought you to my humble abode so early in the day?”
Lysander’s gaze was sharp and cold as steel, a storm of anger swirling in his eyes.
“Taking my woman and children without a trace of remorse, don’t you, Mr. Gordon?” Lysander’s voice was a chilling whisper,
frost lining each word.
Callum suppressed the dread rising within him and managed a calm exterior. He chuckled lightly, “Ms. Everhart mentioned she
fancied a trip. What’s the harm in a little tourism?”
He had underestimated Lysander and thought his reach was limited to domestic soil where he had eyes everywhere.
Never did he expect that Lysander’s influence was formidable even abroad.
Callum thought that his plan to whisk Thalassa away was flawless and that their escape route was beyond Lysander’s grasp.
Yet, within mere hours, Lysander had found them and pinpointed their location with no opportunity left for them to seek refuge
elsewhere.
“Really? She came with you willingly, the whole family in tow?” Lysander raised an eyebrow, his predatory gaze shifting past
Callum to fix on Thalassa.
Meeting his icy stare, Thalassa’s heart skipped a beat. Her hands clenched at her sides, tension coursing through her.

Chapter 1047
Distracted by her ice cream, little Elowen perked up at Lysander’s voice. Her bright eyes turned towards the sound, and there
stood her strikingly handsome father.
Her face lit up. She abandoned the ice-cream and toddled at full speed towards Lysander, “Daddy!”
Reaching him, she wrapped her small arms around his legs, rubbing her cheek.
affectionately against his trousers, not caring for the creamy smudges and traces of her runny nose she left on the pristine fabric.
Thalassa’s heart raced, fearing for Elowen’s innocence.
Lysander was a man of immaculate habits, any speck of dirt was enough to incite his
wrath.
Now, with his trousers smeared, Thalassa expected his fury to double.
But instead, Lysander gently patted Elowen’s tiny back, his voice softening. “Did you miss me?”
Elowen nodded vigorously, “Uh-huh, I missed you so much, Daddy. I’m so glad you’re here! Are you coming on vacation with
us?”
Thalassa was speechless.
Elowen, bless her heart, was none the wiser. She truly believing they were just on a family
trip. Yet her longing for her father was palpable.
Just hours apart from Lysander, and Elowen’s affection was evident.
They say daughters are their father’s shadows; little Elowen was the very definition of a daddy’s girl.
