Chapter 766
A hint of danger was lurking under his mellow voice.
Thalassa could feel a shiver run through her upon hearing him. She could feel the intense danger he exuded.
Her eyes were like shimmering pools of water, her eyelashes fluttering slightly as she clutched at his shirt, “I turned him down, I
really did. I could’ve handled it myself if you didn’t show up.”

She knew he was referring to Jason’s pursuit of her.
Her heart was still fraught with anxiety after she offered the answer. She worried that she wouldn’t get any sleep tonight if
Lysander snapped.
His mood was as unpredictable as the weather, so she always had to be on guard for his sudden outbursts.
“Why did you turn him down? Because you were scared of me?” Lysander’s voice was as magnetic as ever; his words were
carrying a hint of danger that Thalassa couldn’t decipher.
Thalassa’s heart pounded erratically as she tried to guess what he was thinking while bracing herself for his anger.
“Well, that was a part of it. But more importantly, he’s just not my type.” Thalassa’s response was measured.
Lysander would never believe her if she said her rejection had nothing to do with her wariness of him.
She made no attempt to hide her fear of him.
If she angered him, he would take away her kids and never let her see them. How could she dare to provoke him?
Lysander’s tense facial features relaxed a bit upon noticing her fear. He crouched down slightly, circling his arms around her legs
and lifting her up.
Thalassa held her breath as she instinctively wrapped her arms around his neck.
With long strides, he carried her to the bed. He loomed over her; his large, imposing figure was trapping her underneath him as
he looked down at her, “So, what’s your type then?”
Thalassa looked into his deep eyes and listened to his raspy voice. Her heart was racing, her breath growing ragged as she
responded, “Someone as domineering as you....
Lysander shuddered slightly, and his deep eyes rippled. He leaned down, pressing his lips onto hers.
Thalassa trembled slightly, stiffening before slowly wrapping her arms around his back and responding to his kiss.
She had been taut as she was expecting to have to endure another sleepless night.
But instead, he released her when she was dizzy and out of breath from his kisses. He lay down beside her, pulling her into his
arms, “Is this what you wanted to talk about in private?”
He held her soft body, his chin resting on top of her head.
Thalassa could feel his warm breath on the top of her head, which indicated his intense physical reaction,
His voice, raspy and magnetic, made her heart flutter.
Thalassa breathed heavily to take in some fresh air. As she lay in his arms, her face rested against his strong chest; she could
hear his steady heartbeat.
Her heart also pounded like a drum as her body felt soft and weak.
“Mmhm,” Thalassa responded with a small hum.
Lysander’s lower abdomen tensed. He had planned to restrain himself and just sleep through the night. But her words had
brought his body and heart to the edge of excitement. He rolled over, kissing her once again. His large hand ran through her hair,
holding her head in place as he deepened the kiss.
Thalassa could even hear him swallow, which was hitched and overbearing. Her soft breaths intertwined with his heavy ones,
creating an intimate atmosphere.
Alaric dragged Hertha out of the restaurant, shoving her into his car before driving off.
He glanced at Hertha in the rear-view mirror. Her round face was flushed, her eyes dazed. It was clear that she was drunk.
