Big Novel

Claire was furious, her eyes red with anger.
She tried to hold back her aggression as she spoke through gritted teeth.
“Emily, it’s disgusting that you would think I would harm you.
I may not be the most capable person, but I’ve always stayed true to my conscience and never done anything against it.”
Emily rolled her eyes and dismissed Claire’s words.
“Oh, please.
Claire, I tried to help you out by inviting you to join us, but I never expected you to be such a two-faced, dishonest person.
You’re really disappointing.”
She then turned to Matthew and said sweetly, “Chairman, I’m sorry I couldn’t see Claire for who she really is.
I thought she would be a good match for you, but it turns out she’s not the person I thought she was.”
Matthew was in a difficult situation.
Emily was his adopted lover at the company, known for being obedient and understanding.
She also knew her place and never tried to cling to Matthew, even when he was involved with other women.
But lately, Matthew seemed to be growing tired of Emily.
He had a fondness for Asian women, so Emily took it upon herself to act as a matchmaker and introduce him to more women.
After all, as long as she could keep Matthew’s interest through the women she introduced him to, she would continue to have a
constant source of resources.
This time, Emily had planned to introduce Matthew to her classmate from her master’s program, Claire Wilson.
Regardless of her looks, figure, or temperament, Claire was truly exceptional.
When Emily saw her for the first time, she was immediately envious.

She took advantage of their shared classes to sneakily take numerous photos of Claire and send them to Matthew.
Upon seeing the photos, Matthew was shocked and immediately decided to use the opportunity of the graduation ceremony to
meet Claire in person and try to win her over using his status in the design industry.
Matthew didn’t care that Claire was married.
His ultimate goal was to have her join his company as a partner, giving him plenty of opportunities to pursue her slowly over time.
The identity of a partner at AECOM, a dominant player in the industry, was extremely valuable in the design world, and young
female designers dreamed of such an opportunity.
Matthew was confident that Claire would be swayed by his offer.
However, he never expected that Claire would show no interest in his proposal.
Not only was she not interested, but she even approved of her husband’s practice of Feng Shui, which left Matthew feeling a bit
down.
He realized that if he wanted to convince Claire to join his company, he would need to make her see that her husband was a liar.
Matthew glanced at Emily, who was fanning the flames of the argument, and said with a smile, “Emily, don’t be so quick to jump
to conclusions.
I believe Ms.Wilson is sincere and wouldn’t intentionally deceive you.”
He then turned to Charlie and changed the subject, saying with a smile, “Maybe Ms.Wilson is just a victim and didn’t know she
was being deceived.”
Emily, sensing that the boss was still interested in Claire, quickly smiled and said, “Chairman, you’re right! I’m sure Claire must
have been deceived!”
Matthew looked at Claire and said with a gentlemanly smile, “Ms.Wilson, the largest shareholder of our company is Chimelong
Capital of Wall Street.
Chimelong Capital is a specialized investment entity under the Joules Family.

In other words, the Joules family is actually the largest shareholder of our group...”
“Although Ms.Joules doesn’t know me personally, I believe that if I mention my family name, I should be able to become friends
with her...”
“You mentioned earlier that Miss Joules is your husband’s client, and while I don’t mean to question that, I just want to make sure
you haven’t been cheated.
Ms.Wilson, I can help you verify this with Miss Joules if you’d like.”
