“You...” Ava was frustrated. She could not understand why Leon was this confident and grumbled internally, ‘Does he think he’s
the king of Springfield City simply because he got lucky and became friends with Mister Wick, or does he truly think that he can
reason with the Wests? What a joke!‘
Just then, the door to the room was pushed open, and a man in his fifties strode in, followed by two bodyguards in black suits.
‘Has Mister Lynch come back to seek revenge?‘ Ava and Janice’s hearts sank as they turned to look at the door, but soon
relaxed when they saw the man who walked in.
It was not Mister Lynch, but the chairman of Acme Group, Mister Javner.
“Mister Javner, why are you here?” Ava and Janice got up to welcome Mister Javner.
Ava, as the person in charge of the meeting, knew that she had achieved a great accomplishment for securing a partnership with
Wick Group.
She thought that the chairman would be over the moon once he found out and both Janice and her would receive a raise, but to
her bewilderment, it was not a compliment but a slap across the face that awaited her.
“Look at what you’ve done, Ava!” Mister Javner slapped Ava across the face furiously.
“Mister Javner, what... How can you hit me?” Stunned, Ava palmed her burning cheek.
Janice, too, was startled.
“What do you think? I just received a call from Mister Lynch, saying he’s terminated our contract on behalf of Westpraise Group! I
sent you here to talk about renewing the contract, yet you screwed it all up and cost us a tremendous loss! I’m telling you right
now! You’re fired!” Mister Javner roared as he glared daggers at Ava.
After losing Westpraise Group as a partner, Acme Group could only choose to work with Uniqpeace Enterprises and they
expected to suffer great losses.
As the chairman of the company, Mister Javner was furious.

Since Ava was responsible for the negotiation, he could only blame it all on Ava.
“Mister Javner, please let us explain! Miss Addice and I-“Janice tried to argue, only to be interrupted by Mister Javner.
“Shut up! You too, Janice Lynch! You were supposed to assist Ava in the discussion with Mister Lynch, so you’re responsible for
this as well. You’re both fired as of today!” Mister Javner roared as he pointed at Janice.
When Mister Lynch called to confront Mister Javner, Mister Javner did not know the detail of what happened but could easily
guess that Ava and Janice must have crossed the man.
Once he fired the two women, Mister Lynch would surely be pleased, and Mister Javner could send other employees to talk to
Mister Lynch. Acme Group might still be able to secure the partnership with Westpraise Group!
