“Why you...!” Janice’s eyes reddened.
Despite having secured the deal with Wick Group and saved their company billions of dollars, Mister Javner had fired them
without giving them any chance to explain themselves. She felt both depressed and frustrated; on the contrary, Ava kept her
composure.
She was born in an ordinary family and though they were not wealthy, her parents had loved her and had never hit her no matter
what happened, yet Mister Javner, who was only her supervisor, slapped her across the face.
It was humiliating and though she was furious, she remained calm.
“Mister Javner, I’ve been in this company for over six years and I’ve worked hard to secure countless orders and clients for our
firm! Though things did happen to the partnership with Westpraise Group, but don’t you think you are way out of line here to slap
me in the face and fire us without giving us the chance to explain?! “Ava questioned sharply.
“So what if I am? Did I not pay you for working for Acme Group? Who are you to complain about having to work hard? You are
just dogs that I keep and no matter the reason, you two ought to suffer the consequences for breaking Westpraise Group’s
confidence! Firing the two of you is considered merciful!” Mister Javner sneered.
“Good! Very well!” Ava laughed in rage. Though what Mister Javner said was true, it was a blatant insult toward her.
Even the employees at the lowest level of the corporation required respect, not to mention a director like Ava. However, Mister
Javner had been far too materialistic with no sense of decency, and both Janice and Ava were disheartened.
“You blind, old twat! Miss Addice and Janice have already secured a deal with Wick Group for Acme Group and this is how you
treat them?” Enraged, Leon grabbed the contract on the table and threw it toward Mister Javner’s face.
“How dare y-” Mister Javner muttered in frustration when the contract hit his face, but froze when he heard
the latter half of Leon’s sentence.
“What did you just say? You said that they secured a deal with Wick Group?” Shocked, Mister Javner immediately picked up the
contract from the floor and glanced through the pages in bewilderment.

It was written clearly on the contract that not only had Wick Group agreed to work with Acme Group, they had agreed to not take
any percentage of Acme Group’s profit, which would save Acme Group billions of dollars.
Wick Group had control of the bigger proportion of the market and in terms of benefits and future development, working with
Wick Group would be far more beneficial compared to working with Westpraise Group and the two were hardly comparable.
