Big Novel

Aria observed Sean's room and the chess board on the table before she smiled.
"Commander Lennon, you're enjoying yourself. You're under house arrest but in
the mood to play chess with your subordinate. Is this considered finding pleasure
in misery?"

"Misery?" Sean shook his head and said calmly, "How is this misery? I have food
to eat, water to drink, clothes to wear, no need to suffer from the cold, and I don't
need to worry about the danger that might come at any moment. How is this
misery? Ms. Aria, you seem to have never experienced real suffering to say such
a thing."

Aria instantly froze when Sean said this.

She had only spoken casually and did not expect Sean to answer her so
seriously.

She opened her mouth and was about to retort when Sean said, "Ms. Aria,
Lowich's injuries should be stable now, right? I stabbed him. I know how severe
his injuries are, so don't try to lie to me."

Aria suddenly felt the man had taken away her initiative.

No wonder he was the commander-in-chief of Dorodo's city defense army. He
was young but experienced and clever.

However, so what?

They were in Crosac. Forget about Dorodo's city defense army. There was
nothing he could do, even if he was the king!

Aria thought hatefully and replied, "Yes, Lowich's injuries are stable now. And his
wounds have been stitched up. The doctor said he had no injuries to his vital
parts or bone damage, so he will recover soon. He should be able to live a
normal life in another month."

"So, what did you come to see me about today?" Sean asked straight to the
point.

Aria paused again, feeling Sean had messed up her plan.

She had planned to enter the room to meet Sean, taunt him a little, and then
lighten the mood a bit, promising him some benefits, and asking him to work for
her.

However, she was not the one calling the shots ever since she entered the room!
"Commander Lennon, since you didn't beat around the bush, I won't keep
secrets. As you can see, I am now free to move around, but my sister, Lisha is
still imprisoned in her room. I think I don't need to tell you what this means. So,
what are you going to do? Are you still on my sister's side?" Aria asked with a
sneer.

Sean shook his head slowly and said seriously, "I've never been on your or your
sister's side. It's just that you've been treating me like the enemy..."

"Reflect on it yourself. From the time we first met, you've been the one who's
been looking for trouble with me. You've been the one who's been creating the
conflict, haven't you? When did I make the first move?"

Sean's remark instantly left Aria speechless. It was because Sean was speaking
the truth.

"I have never intended to help your sister, but you've thought of me and your
sister as enemies and pushed us over the edge. You've driven me to her side.
Ms. Aria, do you regret it?"
