Chapter 915
He took the socks and put them in his shopping bag, then expressed his confusion, “How did you know they were acting?”
Celeste answered, “1 wasn’t sure at first. When I go shopping, I sometimes encounter salespeople who don’t respect their
customers. But this salesperson’s attitude was really too much. Even when the manager came, she didn’t think she had done
anything wrong. She kept provoking me, in front of the manager, emphasizing that I couldn’t afford the goods, and I felt
something was off.
The manager’s reaction was also strange, although he verbally scolded her, he didn’t give her any substantial punishment. Have
you noticed, these two people kept looking at your wrist, the most expensive thing you’re wearing is your watch I guess they
thought you were a rich man, and I was a stupid woman kept by a sugar daddy. They probably wanted to provoke us, make us
impulsively buy all the goods.”
She said, looking very smug. “You really are rich, but I’m not the woman they thought I was, how could I let them take advantage
of me?”
Not only did Celeste not want to be taken advantage of, but she also wanted to play them a little
Business should be conducted openly and honestly, there’s no need for tricks.
Liam ruffled her hair. “If you like it, just buy it, no need to get upset about this. The time you wasted on them is also a loss, isn’t
it?”
1 haven’t lost anything, after all, there’s nothing to do tonight.”
Liam paused, “I did lose, the time we can spend together is already short, you still spend ten or twenty minutes on others, I don’t
know when I can make another appointment with you”
Celeste was taken aback, then she started laughing. She wrapped her arm around Liam’s and whispered, “Then I’ll go home a
bit later today, we can stay
a bit longer.”
Liam was instantly reassured
Sean had been accepted at the University of S, a school located out of town, and was taking the train there next Thursday
He had originally wanted to apply to a university in J City, but apart from the University of T, none of the other schools offered the
major he wanted. He ended up applying to the University of S on Liam’s advice
He was going to a far away place, the old Dean was very reluctant, and had been busy preparing new quilts for him and buying
living supplies everywhere. Sean took Celeste and Liam to look at the large luggage bags over a metre high, and sighed, “The
Dean probably wanted me to carry two baskets of farm eggs to replenish my body, with so many things, I’m afraid I’ll be denied
boarding before I even get on the train.”
Celeste nudged him a little, “You should be grateful that someone cares about you so much”
“Don’t mess with my hair.”
So, Celeste deliberately cradled his head and messed up his hair until it was all dishevelled.
Just as Sean was about to fight back, Liam pulled him back by his collar, “Boys and girls are different, do you understand?”
Sean was speechless
He thought, “When your wife was messing with my hair, why didn’t you say boys and girls are different?
You’re just protecting your own, double standards.”
Celeste, having found a good deal, ran off to help the Dean with the barbecue. Liam was just about to follow when Sean stopped
him.
“Mr. Reed, I won’t be in J City anymore, so you’ll have to look after the orphanage and Letti.”
Liam paused, “What did you just call me?”
Sean was stunned and quickly corrected himself, “Liam, my brother–in–law”
A satisfied look crossed Liam’s face, “We’re family. It’s only right.”
“Have you and Letti made up yet?”
Sean asked in a low, timid voice.
Liam corrected him, “We just had an argument, you get me?”
Liam spoke with such casual confidence.
Sean continued, “Oh, by the way, some guy came by to donate to the orphanage a while ago. I heard him asking the Dean about
Letti and Aunt Caitlyn.”
