The Guardian's Sword

She did not think Sean would say no. It was because Sean came to Crosac with
the diplomatic convoy to talk, communicate, and make a connection between the
two cities so that Dorodo and Crosac would thrive in

peace.

There was no way he would resist when she offered him such a benefit!
Unexpectedly, Sean slowly shook his head.

"Are you rejecting me? Think it through. You only get one chance at such
generous terms!" Aria snapped, pounding the table.

She was livid now. As the second heiress of Crosac, she was looked after and
fawned upon wherever she went. No one dared to upset her.

However, the man before her humiliated her repeatedly. Besides, she had
stooped to cozy up to him, yet he still rejected her and was so ungrateful.

Avia felt her anger raging inside her.

Sean slowly replied, "Your offer is excellent, but I can't believe it. You're too
emotional, impulsive, arrogant, proud, vain, and callous. I can't cooperate with
someone like you. I trust Ms. Lisha more than I trust you..."

"How dare you mention her..." Aria sprang to her feet with what seemed like
flames burning in her eyes.

"Sean, you'll regret it. You turned me down. Sooner or later, you'll regret it! I'll
make you kneel and lick my shoes when the time comes!" Aria spoke harshly and
turned around to walk outside.

It was then that Zander finally returned with the coffee.

"It seems I made the coffee for nothing..” Zander seemed to be complaining, but
his tone was lighthearted.

He was so happy to see a woman with her eyes above the top of her head, Aria,
humiliated by his commander.

"How is it for nothing? We can drink it ourselves." Sean laughed before picking
up the coffee that Zander had put

on the table.

The mayor's residence...

The mayor's office.

Claremento's face was grim, and the captain of the personal guards was briefing
him in front of his desk.

"Sir, Ms. Aria went to Commander Lennon's room ten minutes ago. She stayed
there for five minutes before storming out.”

Hearing the report from the captain of the personal guards, Mayor Claremento
nodded slowly.

"Aria is trying to talk Sean into taking her side. It seems she also realizes what he
represents, what he's worth, and what he's capable of doing..."

"She's finally not so stupid, but what she's done in the past has made it
impossible for her and Sean to work together. Her reaching out to Sean now will
only make their relationship more difficult. Looking at it this way, she seems more

Mayor Claremento let out a long sigh as he reached the end of his speech.

He was shock knowing what Aria did. He could see that Aria was too bold and
stupid.

The captain of the personal guards asked in confusion, "Sir, why do you give Ms.
Aria freedom but continue to put Ms. Lisha under house arrest? Do you believe
Ms. Aria?"
